Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
Avrelle is built so that we never keep your photo. This page explains exactly what happens to your photo and any other data when you use the site, who else sees it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your photo is sent to AI services only to write your report and make your previews. We don't save it on our servers.
- We don't sell your data, show you ads, or use your photo to train AI.
- There are no accounts and no tracking cookies.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
What we collect and why
Your photo
When you tap “Analyse my face”, your photo is sent from your browser to our server, which passes it straight on to the AI services below to write your report and create your previews. Our server handles it in memory while it works and does not write it to a database or file. Your photo is never shown to other users.
Face measurements
Before anything is sent, your own device measures your photo: things like face proportions, symmetry, head angle and skin, hair and eye colours. These measurements are worked out in your browser. A short numeric summary of them is sent with your photo so the report can explain them. They aren't used to identify you, aren't compared with anyone else's face, and aren't kept by us.
Your choices and date of birth
The options you pick (such as blunt mode or the procedures view) are sent with your photo. Your date of birth is checked in your browser to confirm you're 18 or over. It is never sent to us. Your browser only remembers that the check was passed.
Payment details
If you unlock a makeover, you pay on Stripe's secure checkout page. Stripe collects your card details and email address. We receive a record of the payment, such as the amount, the date, your email address and the last digits of your card, which we keep for our accounts and to handle refunds. We never receive your full card number.
Technical data
Like any website, our server sees your IP address. We hold it briefly in memory to limit how many free reports one person can get each day. Our hosting provider, Vercel, also keeps short-lived request logs (such as IP address, time and page) to run and protect the site.
Visit statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which steps people reach, such as getting a report or starting checkout. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you to other sites. It records things like the page, the site that sent you, your browser, device type and country. Your photo, report and payment details are never sent to it.
Who else handles your data
We use these companies to run the service. Each one only receives what it needs for its part.
- Anthropic (Claude) receives your photo and face measurements to write your report and to rate hairstyle previews. Anthropic's privacy policy
- fal.ai receives your photo and editing instructions to create your previews, using Google's Gemini image models. Your finished preview images are stored by fal at unlisted, hard-to-guess web links so your browser can show them. fal's privacy policy
- Stripe processes payments. For some purchases Stripe acts as the seller of record and handles sales tax. Stripe's privacy policy
- Vercel hosts the website and our server, and provides our visit statistics. Vercel's privacy policy
We use these services through their paid business plans, which limit how long they keep data and how they may use it. Anthropic's commercial terms don't allow your data to be used to train its models. Some of these companies are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there.
What stays on your device
While you go through checkout, your photo and report are kept in your browser's session storage for this tab, so they're still there when you come back from Stripe. Tapping “Start over” or closing the tab clears them. Your browser also remembers that you passed the age check, until you clear your site data. We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising. Stripe's checkout page sets its own cookies to process your payment and prevent fraud.
How long we keep things
- Your photo and face measurements: not stored by us. They are discarded as soon as your report or preview has been made.
- Preview images: kept by fal under its retention policy, at unlisted links that only your browser and our server are given.
- IP addresses for the free-report limit: held in memory for at most a day.
- Payment records: kept as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.
Biometric information
Face measurements can count as biometric information in some places, such as Illinois, Texas and Washington. We only measure your face after you agree to it by ticking the box on the upload screen. We use the measurements only to create your report and previews, never to identify you, and we never sell, lease or trade them. We don't keep them, and in any case they are destroyed once your report and previews have been made.
Adults only
Avrelle is only for people aged 18 and over. Don't upload a photo of anyone under 18. If you think a child's photo has been submitted, contact us and we'll help.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it or to have it deleted, and to object to how it's used. Because we don't keep photos or accounts, the only personal data we usually hold is a payment record. To make a request, contact us at larryttapia@gmail.com. If you're in the UK or EU you can also complain to your local data protection authority. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, as those terms are defined in California law.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
